As a beautician, it’s my job to stay up to date with the latest skincare and beauty products. I’m forever recommending things during appointments and promising to send links afterwards… only to completely forget, or after a busy day accidentally send the wrong client the wrong product!

So I thought I’d put everything together in one place.

These are products I personally own, use and genuinely recommend. No random internet lists or products I’ve never tried - just the ones that have earned a permanent place in my routine.

Save this page for later because I’ll keep adding to it whenever I discover something worth sharing!

*Note: Some of the links on this page are affiliate links (thank you to my client, Amy, who recommended this to me when I told her I was going to create this page!). This means that if you happen to purchase through them, I may earn a very small commission at no extra cost to you. Though please remember, I only recommend products i genuinely like or believe are worth sharing!

SKINCARE

Garnier Invisible SPF Face Mist

If there’s one product everyone should own, it’s a facial SPF. This lightweight, non-comedogenic mist can be used over or under makeup, making it easy to top up your SPF throughout the day. Keep it in the fridge for a refreshing cooling boost in summer and pop it in your handbag for on-the-go protection—especially important after Dermaplaning or Chemical Peels to protect fresh, new skin from UV damage.

La Roche-Posay Tinted SPF

This tinted SPF is non-comedogenic, gives a gorgeous healthy glow and is perfect for those “I can’t be bothered with foundation today” days. There’s a reason it has such incredible reviews.

Utan & Tanologist Face Tan

Finding a face tan that doesn’t cause breakouts can be tricky, but I’ve found two I love! Both Utan and Tanologist offer non-comedogenic facial tanning sprays with skin-loving ingredients to help support blemish-prone skin. I use whichever is on offer and usually go for Light, but I think it’s time to go a shade darker for summer!

Byoma Sensitive Retinol

Retinol is amazing… unless your skin hates it! Mine certainly does. After stronger formulas left my skin irritated, I switched to Byoma Sensitive Retinol after a friend recommended it to me and I haven’t looked back. It gives the benefits of retinol in a much gentler formula, making it a great option for sensitive skin.

Byoma Barrier Repair Oil

I absolutely love this product! Sometimes we get carried away trying every active ingredient and end up damaging our skin barrier. This lightweight overnight oil helps soothe, hydrate, strengthen and repair stressed skin without clogging pores. I always keep a bottle ready for when my skin needs a little extra TLC.

Vichy Hyaluronic Acid Serum

One of the products I recommend the most. Hyaluronic acid draws moisture into the skin, leaving it plumper, smoother and hydrated. It’s especially lovely after Dermaplaning or Chemical Peels. Top tip: Always apply moisturiser afterwards to lock in that hydration!

Hypochlorous Face Spray

I first discovered hypochlorous spray after seeing dermatologists rave about it online. Now I genuinely wouldn’t be without it. It helps calm redness, supports your skin barrier, keeps bacteria under control and is brilliant for acne-prone or sensitive skin. It’s incredibly easy to use and has become a permanent part of my daily routine.

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Balm

I’m definitely more of a lip balm girl than a lipstick girl! This clever balm reacts with your lips’ natural pH to create a unique pink shade. I tested it on myself, my mum and my sister and we all got completely different colours! It’s moisturising, affordable and I even use it as a cream blush too.

BROWS & LASHES

RapidLash & UKLash Lash growth serums

If you’ve been in my treatment room, you’ve probably heard me say: grow your natural lashes instead of relying on extensions! I’ve tried plenty of serums, but RapidLash and UKLash give me the best results without breaking the bank. I have sensitive eyes and have used both for years with no issues—I just switch depending on which has the best offer! Top tip: Keep it by your toothbrush so you remember to apply it every night!

Brow growth serums

Yes… they make one for brows too! This works brilliantly if your hair follicles are still healthy. If you’ve overplucked in the past, don’t give up—brows can take longer than lashes to respond, so consistency is key! It may not work where follicles have been permanently damaged, such as some scars or old microblading, but if they’re still alive, it’s definitely worth trying.

RapidShield Lash Conditioner

This is my daytime lash product. I use RapidLash at night, then apply RapidShield during the day over my Korean Lash Lift. It conditions, protects and works almost like a clear mascara. No mascara needed.

Brightening Eye Drops

I’ve used these for years. Back in my clubbing days they rescued tired, bloodshot eyes. Now they rescue my “perimenopause didn’t let me sleep” eyes! They work within minutes, are suitable for my contact lenses and always live in both my handbag and makeup bag.

Dr Melaxin & Elemis Eye Patches

I’ve tried so many eye patches over the years and these are my favourites. Keep them in the fridge and they’ll give an even better cooling, depuffing effect first thing in the morning.

No More Baggage Eye Gel

I genuinely won’t be without this. It temporarily tightens the appearance of under-eye bags and the effect lasts throughout the day. I always have a backup tube ready before I run out.

Laura Mercier Under Eye Brightening Powder

I discovered this years ago in a beauty subscription box and have repurchased it ever since. It’s incredibly finely milled so it brightens the under-eye area without looking cakey or settling into lines.

Brow Conditioning Aftercare Serum

This is very similar to the conditioning serum I use professionally during Brow Lamination treatments. It’s fantastic for keeping brow hairs healthy, hydrated and styled between appointments, helping your lamination results last longer.

BEAUTY TOOLS & ACCESSORIES

Silk Pillowcase

One of my easiest beauty recommendations. Silk creates less friction than cotton, helping reduce hair breakage, frizz, sleep creases, and being much kinder to your lashes and brows. You don’t need an expensive one—just choose genuine silk (100% mulberry silk if your budget allows) and wash it regularly, especially after facial treatments.

Anti Aging/Wrinkle Chest Support Pillow

Yes, these exist! If you’re a side sleeper and wake up with sleep creases across your chest that seem to linger longer every year, this is such a clever invention. It supports your chest while you sleep and helps reduce those stubborn overnight wrinkles.

Margaret Dabbs Foot File

This was recommended to me by a podiatrist and it’s brilliant. Excellent quality, long-lasting and gives salon-worthy feet at home.

IPL Hair Removal Device

Quite honestly… this is one of the best beauty purchases I’ve ever made. I barely shave my legs anymore, my ingrown hairs have disappeared and the itching I used to get after shaving is completely gone. It even has an app that creates a personalised treatment plan and reminds you when it’s time for your next session. It’s an investment, but one I would happily buy again tomorrow.

Wrinkle Patches

These are a much more affordable alternative to Frownies, without the discomfort of peeling off what feels like a plaster! No water, no waiting for them to dry—just apply them to the areas where you’d like to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, helping to reduce movement and prevent new lines from forming. I mostly use mine on my forehead and between my brows (my “11s”) because I seem to have a permanent resting frown face, so I need all the help I can get!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0GK65S9TN/?tag=hollsbeauenha-21

COSRX Spot patches

I’ve tried a lot of different spot patches and to me this brand of by far the best - and they actually stay on!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08TMHW1RQ/?tag=hollsbeauenha-21

Blotting paper

I’m so done with mattifying powders! They can dry out and cake your skin, highlight dry patches and cling to peach fuzz, making it more noticeable. And let’s be honest… how often do we actually wash our powder brushes?! Yuck! I use blotting paper instead and always keep a pack in my handbag. They don’t ruin your makeup—they simply take away the oily shine! These ones even come with a handy little mirror!

SUPPLEMENTS

Always speak to your GP or healthcare professional before starting any new supplements.

Hydrolysed Collagen Powder

I’ve taken collagen for years. I choose hydrolysed bovine collagen powder for better absorption, as it’s broken into peptides, and it avoids added sugars and fillers found in gummies and tablets. It’s naturally rich in Type I & III collagen for skin, bones and connective tissue, and also provides a helpful protein boost—especially important for women.

Hair Supplements

Perimenopause, weight-loss medications and everyday stress can all contribute to hair thinning. I personally like supplements containing Biotin, which supports healthy hair, and Pumpkin Seed Oil, which has been studied for its potential role in supporting healthy hair growth. Remember, supplements work best alongside a healthy diet and it’s always worth discussing persistent hair loss with your GP.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FH657172/?tag=hollsbeauenha-21

Evening Primrose Oil

I’ve been taking Evening Primrose Oil for quite some time. It’s naturally rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid. Some women, myself included choose to take it to help support wellbeing during hormonal changes.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08VRKMHKY/?tag=hollsbeauenha-21

Creatine

Creatine isn’t just for bodybuilders! It’s especially helpful for women and becomes more important as we age, since we naturally lose muscle mass from our 30s onward. It supports energy, strength, muscle maintenance, and recovery—especially when combined with resistance training and enough protein.
